Studless tyres are ofted used in the winter in Japan. They have a unique pattern as can be seen above. The tyre wall also indicates that they are for mud and snow. Usually the speed rating is well below the maximum capable by the car. These tyres are excellent for snow but are not suitable for motorway speeds, particularly in the wet. About 25% of cars arrive from Japan fitted with these tyres. They need to be changed.
